Refund & Cancellation Policy

In the policies below,
“you” means the person who is responsible for a student’s account with Melodique;
“we” means Melodique Music;
“season” means a period of time from from the beginning of a NSW public school term to the end, or the beginning of a public school holiday till the end
“credit” means instruction time owed by Melodique to the student

Lesson Gift Vouchers


If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your Lesson Gift Voucher purchase we will give you a 7 day money-back guarantee from the time of purchase – provided the voucher has not yet been used to redeem any lessons. Please email us at admin@melodique.com.au within that time so that we can resolve any problems.

Lesson Gift Vouchers must be fully redeemed within a period of 6 months of the date of purchase. If a time-slot cannot be agreed upon for the lessons within that 6 month period, the fee/s paid for the gift voucher/s will be forfeited.

When using a Lesson Gift Voucher to book, please be aware that lessons must be booked for the duration of a season at a minimum rate of 1 lesson per week.


Lessons Purchased Online


Once payment has been received you will be contacted within 2 working days to arrange booking of the lessons you have purchased.

If a time-slot cannot be agreed upon for your lesson/s, the fee paid for the unattended lesson/s will then be refunded within 7 working days.
Please be aware that lessons must be booked for the duration of a season and at at a minimum rate of 1 lesson per week.


Lessons Purchased via Xero or Bank Transfer


It is assumed that the time-slot/s for (a) lesson/s purchased via Xero or Bank Transfer have already been agreed upon and booked. There is no ‘cooling off period’ for lessons purchased via either of these methods.

Payments made via bank transfer must be made within 3 working days of the initial lesson and a receipt of payment must be emailed to admin@melodique.com.au.


Cancellation Policy:

While a student normally attends lessons on a regular (weekly) basis, at times, attendance of a particular lesson becomes impossible.
Reasons can be twofold – teacher absence or student absence. In case of a teacher absence, Melodique will inform you as soon as possible.
In case of a student absence, please inform Melodique as soon as you become aware of the given situation (where the student cannot attend a particular lesson that you paid for).

We categorise the missed lessons as follows:

1. A lesson is cancelled by you, with at least a 24 hour notice:

  • The cancelled lesson will be replaced with a make-up lesson
  • You may have 3 such cancellations within a season
  • A missed lesson cannot be held as an additional lesson after a given pre-paid period
  • Make-up lessons cannot be carried over beyond the end of a season
  • It is your responsibility to request a make-up lesson by emailing admin@melodique.com.au or 0422 606 639 business hours

2. A lesson is cancelled by you, with less than 24 hour notice:

  • Due to the short notice, no credit can be given
  • The unattended lesson will not be replaced and no make-up lesson is owed
  • The fee paid for the unattended lesson is forfeited

3. A lesson is not cancelled by you, but the student is a “No-Show”:

  • Due to the complete lack of notice, no credit is given
  • The unattended lesson will not be replaced and no make-up lesson is owed
  • The fee paid for the unattended lesson is forfeited

4. You call during the missed lesson, informing of non-attendance

  • Due to the complete lack of an advanced notice, no credit is given
  • The unattended lesson will not be replaced and no make-up lesson is owed
  • The fee paid for the unattended lesson is forfeited

5. The student arrives late for the lesson, with or without advanced notice

  • No credit is given for the missed time
  • The lesson will not be extended beyond it’s scheduled end-time
  • If the student is more than 15 minutes late, the lesson may not be held at all and no credit is owed

6. Multiple, subsequent lessons cancelled with at least 1 month notice (eg. planned overseas trip)

  • A number of lessons equal to the missed lessons will be scheduled in the weeks prior, at the studio’s convenience, or,
  • Lessons are discontinued with a possible re-enrolment; however, we may be unable to provide the time slot originally held
  • If a time-slot for re-enrolment cannot be agreed upon, the fee/s paid for the unattended lesson/s will then be forfeited

7. Multiple, subsequent lessons cancelled due to long term illness

  • Lessons are discontinued with a possible re-enrolment; however, we may be unable to provide the time slot originally held
  • If a time-slot for re-enrolment cannot be agreed upon, the fee/s paid for the unattended lesson/s will then be forfeited

8. Instructor Absence

  • Credit for a full make-up lesson is given

Other Policies:

10. Advanced Make-Up Lessons

  • We reserve the rights to schedule advanced make-up lessons for lesson(s) that you may cancel in the future.
  • Should you end up not cancelling any lessons through the whole season, the season will be truncated
    by the number of advanced make-up lessons held.

11. Discontinuation of Lessons

  • Please give us a 1 week written notice – to admin@melodique.com.au – with respect to no longer wishing to continue taking lessons.
  • Any post dated cheques held or fees already received for lessons that are being cancelled will be returned.

12. Next Season Reservation

  • Any reservation payment for the next season made at the end of the previous season is non-refundable
